Air bags are now fitted all around the car, including in the lower dash & all round roof curtains.

Seat belts must be warn, as they work in conjunction with airbags. the seat belt has a pre pre-tensioner to tighten the belt.

Rear facing child seat should not be fitted in seats with a rear facing airbag, eg front passengers seat. most vehicles the airbag can be turned off if a child seat is fitted.

Airbag systems need to be disarmed before working on. Airbags & pre-tensioners are activated by an explosive charge.
